A Chicago man has been charged with criminal sexual assault after being linked through DNA evidence to a 2008 group sexual attack of a woman on the South Side.

Prosecutors charged Darrion L. Wright, 35, with aggravated criminal sex assault Saturday for allegedly participating in a group sex assault of a woman on May 22, 2008.

At that time, the victim was drinking at the corner of 79th and Halsted streets at about 1:30 a.m. with a friend when two men approached, prosecutors said.

The victim and her friend continued to drink with the two men, prosecutors said. The victim’s friend left after awhile, leaving the victim with James Gordan, 37, and a second unknown man, prosecutors said. Gordan is also identified in court records as Gordon.

They took her to an abandoned building on the 7800 block of South Emerald Avenue in the Gresham neighborhood and while at the building three other men joined them in pouring alcohol down the woman’s throat and taking off her clothes, Sedelmaier said.
